Friday, November 13, 2009, AT&T Will Implement The New Dialing Procedure.
The new dialing procedure requires that when making a local call in Connecticut you dial the area code plus the 7 digit local number (for example: 860-455-5555). The "1" is not required before the area code.
If you do not use the new dialing procedure your call will not be completed and you will receive a recording instructing you to hang up and dial again. When placing an outside local call from within UConn you will still be required to dial “8” or “9” followed by the telephone number.
If you experience any difficulty with the new process please contact the UITS Help Center 860.486.4357 (from off campus) or 6-4357 (from on campus) and select option #2.
